Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
Limology ("we", "our", "us") provides chauffeur and ground-transportation services across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, booking system, and in-vehicle services, and how we handle it. We aim to collect only what is necessary to provide your ride and to keep our business running.
1. What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Account information when you sign in with Google or Apple: your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. We never receive your password.
- Booking details: pickup and drop-off addresses, dates, passenger count, vehicle preferences, and any special requests you make.
- Contact information: your phone number (required so your chauffeur can reach you), and any messages you send us.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. We retain a reference to the card and a record of each transaction.
Information we collect automatically
- Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for security and abuse prevention.
- In-vehicle activity: when you ride with us, our in-car system may track which content or recommendations were shown on the display. We do not record audio or video of passengers, and we do not use cameras or microphones inside the vehicle.
2. How we use it
- To process your booking, dispatch a chauffeur, and complete your ride.
- To contact you about your booking — confirmations, ETA updates, and post-ride receipts.
- To process payment through Stripe and prevent fraud.
- To improve our service — analyzing aggregate trends in routes, vehicle types, and timing.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact details with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party outside the vendors listed below.
3. Who we share it with
We share limited information with a small number of vendors who help us run the business:
- Your chauffeur: receives your pickup details, name, and phone number so they can complete your trip.
- Stripe: processes your payment. Stripe operates under its own privacy policy.
- Google and Apple: provide sign-in services. When you choose to sign in, they tell us your name, email, and a stable identifier — nothing else.
- SendGrid and Twilio (when active): deliver email confirmations and text-message updates.
- Google Maps: powers route mapping and live tracking.
- Law enforcement: only if legally required, such as in response to a valid subpoena.
4. How long we keep it
- Account information: as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period for tax, legal, and accounting purposes after account closure.
- Booking and payment records: at least seven years to meet tax and accounting requirements.
- Sign-in and activity logs: typically 90 days, longer if needed for security investigations.
- Trip GPS data: retained for service quality review, then aggregated or deleted.
5. SMS / text messages
Limology sends transactional SMS messages to mobile phone numbers you provide during sign-up or booking. These messages are operational, not promotional.
- What we send: one-time verification codes, booking confirmations, chauffeur dispatch and arrival notifications, and trip-related status updates.
- Message frequency: message frequency varies by activity. A typical customer receives 2 to 6 messages per reservation. Verification codes are sent only when you request one.
- Carrier charges: message and data rates may apply. Limology does not charge for SMS; standard rates from your mobile carrier may apply to received messages.
- How we obtained your number: you provided it directly to us via our booking form and explicitly clicked a button to request SMS messaging.
- How to stop messages: reply STOP to any Limology SMS to opt out. You can also email support@limology.co. Opting out of SMS does not cancel any active reservation but may delay our ability to reach you in the event of a trip change.
- How to get help: reply HELP to any Limology SMS, or email support@limology.co.
Mobile information sharing: Limology does not share or sell mobile phone numbers or any SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are used solely to operate the chauffeur service you have requested. We may share mobile information with service providers strictly to deliver the messages themselves (for example, our SMS infrastructure provider Twilio), and these providers are contractually prohibited from using the information for any other purpose.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- See what personal information we have about you.
- Correct anything inaccurate.
- Delete your account and associated records (subject to legal retention requirements above).
- Stop sending you non-essential email — we will always send transactional messages tied to your active bookings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard practices: encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted password storage handled by Google and Apple, and PCI-compliant payment handling by Stripe (we never see card numbers). No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
8. Children
Limology does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Our service is offered to adults who can enter a transportation contract.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will email you at the address on file.
