Terms of Service
Last updated: May 19, 2026
These terms govern your use of Limology's website, booking system, and chauffeur services. By booking a ride or creating an account, you agree to them. Please read carefully — they cover your responsibilities, our responsibilities, payment, cancellations, and liability.
1. Who we are
"Limology" refers to the chauffeur service operated under the brand, serving Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. "You" refers to the person booking or taking a ride.
2. Booking and confirmation
- Submitting a booking request creates a request, not a confirmed ride. We will respond with a quote, typically within 30 minutes during operating hours.
- Your booking is confirmed when we send you a confirmation message and, if applicable, payment is received.
- Quotes are valid for a limited time and may change if the request changes (different vehicle, added stops, route changes).
- We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.
3. Payment
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards.
- We do not store your full card number. Stripe handles all card data on its PCI-compliant systems.
- Payment may be collected before the ride (for required-payment bookings) or after, depending on the service tier.
- Quoted prices include base fare, mileage, time, and standard surcharges. Tolls, parking, and extreme wait times may be added.
- A standard gratuity may be included or added at your discretion; we will be transparent about which.
4. Cancellations and changes
- More than 24 hours before pickup: full refund.
- 4 to 24 hours before pickup: 50% cancellation fee on confirmed bookings.
- Less than 4 hours before pickup, or no-show: full charge applies.
- For airport transfers and weddings, special terms may apply — these will be stated on your quote.
- Limology reserves the right to waive cancellation fees in cases of genuine emergency at our discretion.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate pickup and drop-off information.
- Be ready at the pickup location at the scheduled time. Extended wait times beyond 15 minutes may incur additional charges.
- Conduct yourself respectfully toward your chauffeur and the vehicle. We reserve the right to end a ride and ask you to disembark in cases of abusive behavior or activities that are illegal, dangerous, or damaging to the vehicle.
- Cleaning fees: a fee of $250 may be charged for vomit, spillage, or other significant cleaning required after your ride.
- You may not transport any illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous materials.
- Open alcohol in the passenger area is not permitted unless agreed in advance for licensed events.
6. Vehicle and chauffeur
- We will provide a vehicle of the class you booked or a comparable upgrade if necessary.
- All chauffeurs are vetted, licensed, and insured. They will treat you with courtesy and discretion.
- Routes are at the chauffeur's reasonable discretion. We follow your preference where it is safe and lawful to do so.
7. Delays and acts beyond our control
We make every effort to be on time. We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures, accidents, vehicle breakdown, or other events beyond our reasonable control. In the event our vehicle cannot complete your ride, we will refund any unused portion and assist in arranging alternate transportation.
8. Liability
Limology carries commercial auto insurance as required by law. Our liability to you is limited to the value of the ride. We are not responsible for personal property left in the vehicle — please check before exiting.
9. Sign-in accounts
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if it is used to abuse the service or other riders or staff.
- You can request account deletion at any time, subject to legal retention requirements for tax and accounting records.
10. Disputes
We prefer to resolve issues directly. Please contact us first if anything is unsatisfactory. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before the appropriate courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance.
